Purpose:
DMC Medical Education Symposium (Dmes) Is aimed at aligning medical professionals residents and students to the advances in medical education and integration of basic sciences with clinical disciplines. It focuses on some aspects of medical education and common clinical conditions and gives an opportunity to freely interact and network with eminent personalities in the medical field. .

Description of Symposium

The program is designed to have 3 arms:

  1. There will be four 20-minute presentations on general topics in medical education
  2. The second session will be related to modern advances in the management of common clinical problems
  3. The third session will concern medical education for the undergraduate students.

Each of these will have four short presentations of about 20 minutes followed by discussion. The speakers are : Professor Frederick Fenech, Professor Harald Rosen, Professor Parveen Kumar, Mr Pradip K Datta, Dr Simon Dover, Dr Hadi Al-Hillawi and Dr S T Irwin.

They are external examiners in the Final Examination in Medicine & Surgery. They are all well-known in both education and in clinical practices.

Following coffee, there will be a general meeting of questions and answers with the external examiners fielding all questions coming from the floor. This session will last about 1 ½ to 2 hours followed by lunch after which the program ends.
